Procrastination

Do you procrastinate? If so, why do you think you do it? Several people have told me recently that procrastination is their biggest frustration.

I’ll tell you a little secret. We all procrastinate! But the important point here is to understand why you do it and then to switch gears.

Do you recognize these excuses?

  • I’m too tired.
  • I’m too busy.
  • I’m just lazy.
  • I’ve got to make a few calls first.
  • I don’t have time.
  • I’m on overload.

But here’s what you’re really saying:

  • I’m scared.
  • I’m stupid.
  • I’m not good enough.
  • They won’t like it.
  • I’m not up to it.
  • I’ll only fail

Now most of you are not aware of these underlying thoughts, but they’re deep inside of you when you procrastinate. So are painful feelings.

The way out of this vicious cycle is to call your bluff. See if your excuses are what you believe! Then take a look at those underlying thoughts. Are they really true? Some of you will believe them and others won’t.

If you believe them – even some of them – Self Hypnosis with positive suggestions is the best way to get out of that awful feeling of “stuckness.” Get my free MP3 download to see if Hypnosis can help you. Always wishing you the best.

Change your thoughts. Change your life.

As the poet Rumi said, “Remember, the entrance door to the sanctuary is inside you.
